Tormetais – Sociedade de Comercialização de Metais, Lda. Submitted an application to the Innovation Incentive System, Notice 03 / SI / 2015, which received a favorable opinion from the Northern 2020 Operational Program. The application provided for a total investment of 1,759,896.14 euros, to be made between 01-05-2015 and 04-30-2017.
The project was fully approved, corresponding to the eligible investment a refundable incentive of 1,055,937.68 euros.
The project is part of the global strategy of sustained growth that has been carried out by Tormetais, aiming to provide the company with competitive conditions so that it can approach new market segments and strengthen its export side. To this end, it was planned to introduce a wide range of investments in the production process, in order to allow a modification of the same, giving it the capacity to produce parts with different technical characteristics. In addition to allowing the company to increase its productive capacity, the investment plan enabled Tormetais to produce other sizes and a higher quality, a requirement for entry to the company to operate at the level of the upper middle segment of the automotive sector.
The new machines and equipment, with high reliability and printing, allow the production of more efficient products, which translates into an increase of the productive capacity of the company in order to satisfy all the requests that the customers and the market in general make to the company.
The project has been completed globally. Its implementation took place according to schedule, and the company was able to complete the same on 27-02-2017, approximately 2 months before the date foreseen in the application and later contractualized.

Tormetais – Sociedade de Comercialização de Metais, Lda. Submitted an application to the Innovation Incentive System, Notice 19 / SI / 2016, which received a favorable opinion from Norte 2020 (Regional Operational Program for the North). The application provided for a total investment of € 1,088,775.40, to be made between 10-17-2016 and 10-16-2017. The project was fully approved, corresponding to the eligible investment, a reimbursable incentive of € 653,265.24.
With this project, the company intended to expand its productive capacity of smaller pieces, greater precision and bigger pieces. The company’s objective was to increase its production capacity, enabling it to produce parts with new characteristics and new material (aluminum).
In this sense, a set of equipment was acquired, of which the following stand out: 2 sprint machines, an automatic lathe, laminator, hermetic washing machine and CNC machine with 6 rotary transfer stations. In addition, adaptive works were also carried out and methodologies were implemented to obtain improvements in organizational processes.
The project has been completed globally. Its implementation took place according to schedule, and it was able to complete the project on 11-10-2017, a few days before the date foreseen in the application and later contractualized.
